KBC Singles Swiss Ladder – Registration Now Open!

KBC is excited to announce a trial run of a Singles Swiss Ladder, giving members a fun and flexible way to enjoy competitive singles matches on their own schedule.

This pilot ladder cycle will run for two months using a Swiss Ladder format, where players are regularly matched against opponents with similar results and standings. Whether you’re looking for more match experience, a new challenge, or simply another reason to get on court, this is a great opportunity to test your skills against fellow KBC members.

As this is our first trial run, there is no registration fee to participate!

If the trial is successful, we hope to make the Singles Ladder a regular offering at KBC!

How the Swiss Ladder Works

The Setup
Players will be placed on the ladder at the start of the competition. Initial positions may be determined by registration order, random placement, or player seeding.

The Pairings
Weekly pairings will be generated by the organizer. Players will be matched against opponents closest to them on the ladder at that point in time.

The Movement

  • Win your match and you’ll move up the ladder.
  • Lose your match and you’ll move down slightly.
  • Results from each week determine the next set of pairings.

The Next Cycle
Each week, new pairings will be generated based on the updated ladder standings, ensuring competitive and balanced matchups throughout the season.

Match Rules

  • Play your assigned match once per week between Monday and Sunday.
  • Players are responsible for arranging a mutually convenient time to play.
  • You must book your own court time and use your own shuttlecocks.
  • Results must be submitted each week.

Important

  • If a match is not completed by Sunday, both players will be defaulted, unless it is clear that one player was unavailable or unwilling to play.
  • Please contact your assigned opponent early in the week to avoid scheduling issues.
