Junior Training

Scot Young is pleased to offer a variety of Junior Training Programs at KBC.

  • Please note, to enroll in Junior Training, players must also be KBC members.
  • All Juniors must wear safety goggles while on court. New KBC members will be given a free pair of goggles with their membership. Returning members can purchase replacement goggles (if needed) through the club.

  • Note that Scot Young is a Contractor (and not an employee) of the Kelowna Badminton Club and is solely responsible for the collection of fees and conduct of all lessons conducted at Kelowna Badminton Club.

Traditional programs include:

Little Birds Junior Lessons (Ages 5-8)

A fun and active lesson for the smallest players. An introduction to the rules of the game, good sportsmanship, coordination, balance fitness and lots of fun!

-includes feather shuttles for lessons and games

Junior Beginner/Intermediate Lessons (Ages 8-17)

These sessions are for players with some or no school badminton experience who want to learn the sport with proper technical instruction. A fun class with an introduction to competitions.

-includes feather shuttles for lessons and games.

Junior Training B Group (Ages 9-17)

Intermediate/Competitive training group for juniors who are entering competitions and/or playing on their school teams.

Admission will be with coach approval.

-includes feather shuttles for lessons and games

Junior Training A Group (Ages 12-19)

Combined A and B level training session for those who cannot attend the Tuesday or Thursday sessions.

Admission will be with coach approval.

Junior Training A/B Group (Ages 9-19)

Combined A and B level training session for those who cannot attend the Tuesday or Thursday sessions.

Admission will be with coach approval.

-includes feather shuttles for training and games.

Junior A and B groups Sunday drop-in match coaching (Ages:9-19)

No cost for players already registered for two sessions per week.

A $10 drop-in fee will apply to other players if they desire coaching.

Players must supply their own shuttles.
