Coaching

Head Coach Scot Young conducts Junior Programs for ages 6 and up, as well as a variety of adult programs at Kelowna Badminton Club.  Private, semi-private, and group lessons are also available. Contact Scot for more details.

Head Coach: Scot Young

Scot has been playing badminton for 36 years and been a professional coach for 22 years. He has competed at a national level and medalled in junior, open and masters competitions. Scot has been an assistant coach at the Vancouver Lawn Tennis and Badminton Club (6 years), the Royal Glenora Club (8 years), and been the head pro at the Red Willow Badminton Club (2 years). He has conducted clinics for Badminton Alberta and B.C. Scot’s students have won championships at the local, provincial, collegiate, national and international levels. In addition to conducting the junior lessons, Scot is offering adult beginner sessions and adult intermediate sessions A competitive/advanced training group and a masters group will be added soon.

Assistant Coach: Cory Kunz

Cory has been playing badminton since grade 11. He has a great passion for the game, and plays competitively at least twice a week. His energetic outlook and love for the game are perfect assets in a young coach, and we look forward to Cory helping our coaching team for years to come.
