KBC CLOSED due to COVID-19
March 17, 2020 6:50 pmDear KBC Members:
Due to the escalating situation with COVID-19, the KBC Executive has decided to close the club. Today, Tuesday, March 17 will be the last day play is allowed. We will monitor the situation in deciding when we can safely re-open, but no such timelines exist today.
In the last few weeks and months, we have put in measures to comply with all provincial guidelines and followed the advice of relevant authorities. These measures have become increasingly restrictive in order to slow the spread of COVID-19. Today, BC has declared a public health emergency and all schools have been ordered closed. Kelowna has also closed all of its public recreation facilities. In order to comply with provincial mitigation efforts and stronger requirements around social distancing, we must also close the club.
If you have any belongings at the club, please pick them up tonight or tomorrow morning. Play will not be allowed tomorrow, but we will try to keep keycards working until noon tomorrow to facilitate getting belongings.
We are, of course, sad that we need to take this step, but our hope is that the sacrifices we are all making will assist in getting past this pandemic quickly and safely.
Stay healthy,
KBC Executive
